King of the Hammers – Johnson Valley, CA: January 31 – February 12, 2023
King of the Hammers is one of the toughest off road events around. You will see everything from UTVs to buggies to motorcycles and much more. It combines rock crawling and desert racing for a crazy competition and a whole lot of fun out in Johnson Valley, California. There is a series of 5 races held throughout the course of the events, and it’s so intense even the spectators have to sign a waiver!
BF Goodrich Mint 400 – Las Vegas, NV : March 8-12, 2023
The Mint 400, also known as “The Great American Off-Road Race” is a long-format desert race that takes place across the open desert just outside of Las Vegas. This race dates back to the late 60s and has brought in famous names like Steve McQueen, Parnelli Jones, and even Hunter S. Thompson, who wrote about the race in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. The race features 5 classes for UTVs that each make four grueling laps around the 95.4-mile course. You can also check out the various vendors and enjoy the party out in the desert.
Moab 4×4 Expo – Moab, UT : April 13 – 15, 2023
While this is mostly a vendor-based event, it is absolutely worth putting on your calendar. You and other off-road enthusiasts get the chance to meet and chat with some of the most knowledgeable people in the industry. This free off-road expo not only has free admission but a free treasure hunt, free raffle drawings, free tech talks, and free parking. You can also get free professional rig photos to take home as a keepsake. Pretty cool!
Windrock Springs Shindig – Oliver Springs, TN : April 20-22, 2023
The spring and summer riding season in Tennessee kicks off with the Windrock Springs Shindig. This weekend-long event draws a huge crowd for trail rides, outdoor concerts, fun parties, and one heck of a good time. Join the like-minded off-roaders, explore the many vendors, or take your machine out on the trails.
SCORE Baja 500 – Baja California, Mexico: May 31 – June 4, 2023
The SCORE is a series of races that runs for a long period of time out in Baja and the Baja 500 is not to be missed. Kick your summer off with a bang by witnessing competitors take on the 500-mile loop that both begins and ends in Ensenada, Mexico. Taking a trip out to Mexico to see it in person is sure to be an off road event you will never forget. But don’t worry, if Mexico isn’t in your plans, you can still catch the action online.
Jeepers Jamboree – Sierra Nevada, CA: July 27-30, 2023
The Jeepers Jamboree is one of the oldest off road events of its kind in the United States. Often called the “Granddaddy” of off road events. Participants get to run the famous Rubicon trail. This is no easy feat, but those who make it to the end are rewarded with major bragging rights along with the chance to wine and dine at Rubicon Springs after. It is a paradise for Jeep lovers.
SCORE Baja 1000 – Baja California, Mexico: November 13-18, 2023
The SCORE Baja 1000 is a truly epic race that takes place over a 1,100-mile course that stretches from La Paz to Ensenada. The course is slightly altered each year, so racers will always be on their toes. People come in from around the world to compete in this infamous off road event, so whether you have the guts to enter or you simply want to spectate, it will blow you away.
